| Summary, etc. | Hablar del "evangelio de la paz" (Ef 6.15) puede dar lugar a dos líneas de interpretación, ambas unilaterales y, en último término, impracticables en el contexto de un seguimiento integral de Jesús. El "evangelio de la paz" se puede entender de una forma meramente "espiritualista": hablaría de la paz interior que se consigue cuando escuchamos que somos perdonados de todos los pecados mediante el sacrificio de Jesús en la cruz. Esta paz sería algo puramente individual e interno, y no guardaría ninguna relación con la vida pública y social de los cristianos. Por otra parte, el "evangelio de la paz"se puede entender desde el punto de vista meramente "social": se referiría a la auténtica posición cristiana con respecto a la violencia que caracteriza al orden presente de este mundo. La no-violencia sería simplemente una opción ética y estratégica, inspirada en el ejemplo de Jesús, de Gandhi y de otros grandes luchadores por la liberación humana. En este caso, el "evangelio de la paz" no tendría una conexión clara con el anuncio de la obra que Jesús ha hecho por nosotros en la cruz, ni con la transformación que ello opera en nuestros corazones. Sin embargo, no basta decir que quien tiene paz interior tratará bien a sus semejantes, ni que el ejemplo de Jesús incluye su muerte en la cruz. Es básicas en el marco más amplio de una teología sobre el reinado de Dios para preguntarnos en qué consiste verdaderamente la paz que trae el evangelio. |
