| Summary, etc. | La palabra geopolítica se aplica generalmente al estudio de las rivalidades entre los Estados. Este libro plasma una concepción de la geopolítica definida y aplicada por el geógrafo francés Yves Lacoste y por la revista que él fundó en 1976: Hérodote. Aborda la geopolítica como un método de análisis de los antagonismos que pueden desarrollar grupos inscritos en territorios concretos, de magnitud y naturaleza variadas. Desde esa perspectiva, se plantea el Estado como un modo de organización social y política cuyas rivalidades internas (entre los ciudadanos de un mismo país) deben ser analizadas para asimismo entender las relaciones internacionales. La cartografía a distintas escalas de los fenómenos estudiados es un elemento fundamental del análisis geopolítico, así como los esquemas para visualizar el papel de los protagonistas. Por ello, esta obra ofrece una treintena de mapas y esquemas realizados por especialistas –y homogeneizados por el ingeniero cartógrafo Guilhem Marotte– para ilustrar determinadas situaciones y razonamientos, como pueden ser el trazado del tranvía en Jerusalén, los conflictos en África central o los intereses de distintas comunidades autónomas en las aguas del río Tajo. Barbara Loyer es catedrática de Geopolítica en el Instituto Francés de Geopolítica (Universidad de Parí s 8). Forma parte de la redacción de Hérodote. |
