Teniendo en cuenta que la humanidad debe cultivarse constantemente, ¿existe una conciencia política de la importancia de esta tarea? ¿O estamos condenados a seguir rodeados con toda clase de avances tecnológicos sin tener la posibilidad de madurar como seres humanos? Aunque el mayor logro político de la modernidad puede verse en la Declaración de los derechos humanos, los sucesivos modelos políticos, ya sean socialistas o liberales, han olvidado al ser humano. El ámbito político se encuentra más que nunca asediado por los diversos discursos, el de la ciencia, el de la moral, el de la biología y el de los acontecimientos cotidianos. A la merced de ellos, la esfera política está en peligro de quedarse privada de su tarea y su responsabilidad genuinas, que Edgar Morin define como antropo-política. En este libro propone los principios para un nuevo tipo de política multidimensional, que debe reorientar el progreso poniéndolo al servicio de la humanidad más allá del mero automatismo consumista. El autor denuncia las ilusorias nociones del fin de las ideologías y del fin de la historia. La crisis universal del auténtico progreso humano es también la crisis de nuestro mundo occidental, un mundo que ha quedado atrapado en su propio desarrollo tecnológico y que se halla moral e intelectualmente atrasado. |
