| Summary, etc. | En Hacienda Lealtad, Historia con Futuro se presentan dos siglos de historia en el corazón de Puerto Rico. El municipio de Lares fue el escenario donde se estableció una hacienda que es el reflejo de los eventos históricos de la Isla de Puerto Rico en el siglo XIX. Por estos terrenos ricos terratenientes franceses, españoles y mallorquines y un sinnúmero de trabajadores anónimos que dejaron el sudor de su trabajo para que la tierra fértil produjera el mejor café de Puerto Rico y el mundo. A través de este libro el lector conocerá el periodo de fundación del municipio y el desarrollo de una hacienda que produciría gran riqueza y sufrimiento. La esclavitud no está ausente de esta historia y en ella el lector encontrará la difícil vida de los esclavos, a los cuales se les privó de libertad para producir riqueza que fue proporcionalmente opuesta al gran sufrimiento de estos seres humanos. |
