| Summary, etc. | El libro Barbosa en el tiempo, se presenta como el primer acercamiento historiográfico contemporáneo a la figura del fundador del movimiento estadista puertorriqueño. Es la historia del médico y político bayamonés en la lucha por su proyecto modernista y progresista para Puerto Rico. También rememora la relación directa de Barbosa con la prensa y su rol en la fundación del periódico El Tiempo, instrumento poítico del republicanismo puertorriqueño. El libro está organizado por temas según las diferentes facetas de su vida pública. Barbosa en el tiempo presenta las direcciones en las que el líder político enfiló su vida a través del servicio a su patria como masón, propulsor de la justicia económica para los obreros y promotor del cooperativismo. Asimismo, se presentan las diversas políticas de Barbosa: autonomista, antimonárquico, republicano y anexionista. Finalmente, el libro cubre el compromiso patriótico de Barbosa en su ejecución como educador y legislador.--(Back cover) |
