| Summary, etc. | La Septuaginta (LXX) es la primera traducción de la Biblia. Su nombre designa propiamente la traducción de la Torá hebrea al griego que, según la Carta de Aristeas, fue llevada a cabo en Alejandría durante el reinado de Ptolomeo II Filadelfo (285-246 a.C.). Por primera vez la sabiduría de Israel, condesada a lo largo de los siglos en la Biblia hebrea, pasaba de una lengua semítica a otra indoeuropea, y por este cause al mundo occidental. Al ser más tarde adoptada como Biblia oficial de los cristianos, esta versión, que representó también la primera interpretación de la Biblia hebrea, acompaño la expansión del cristianismo e influyó de mil formas diferentes en la cultura. A partir del siglo V sería destronada en Occidente por la nueva versión de Jerónimo al latín, denominada Vulgata, mientras que en Oriente ha continuado usándose en numerosas liturgias. Solo en el siglo XX la Septuaginta ha vuelto a ver reconocida su importancia para la fijación del texto bíblico.--Back cover. |
