La educación es un pilar esencial para la articulación y el progreso de la sociedad y de todos y cada uno de los individuos que la componen. Es también un terreno de debate y confrontación entre modelos y concepciones diferentes. La presente selección de conferencias y artículos de Gregorio Luri constituye una aproximación magnífica a los temas que preocupan a su autor en ese ámbito, así como a los retos y aspiraciones que deberían ser objeto de debate pedagógico. Reconocido filósofo de la educación, Luri aborda en estos textos asuntos como el valor de la meritocracia, la exigencia académica o el significado de la igualdad real de oportunidades, todos ellos merecedores de honda reflexión. Los textos aquí recogidos, en su mayor parte procedentes de conferencias pronunciadas en los últimos años ante públicos diversos, son una muestra de la convicción de su autor para exponer y defender sus puntos de vista sin perder un ápice de rigor, puesto que, como él mismo señala: «Quienes van a oírte pueden perdonarte -¡qué remedio!- que haya cosas en las que no estén de acuerdo contigo, pero difícilmente te excusarán la cobardía de la retórica vacía o que les hables de lo que no crees». |
