La obra presenta un programa de intervención psicológica grupal, que incluye explicaciones, ejercicios y tareas progresivas, y cuenta con técnicas de relajación, psicoeducación, toma de decisiones, ejercicios de autoestima y de aceptación, entre otras, las cuales se ha comprobado que aportan beneficios en áreas personales tan diferentes como la física, la psicológica y la social. Va dirigida a diferentes profesionales y estudiantes de ciencias de la salud, que buscan técnicas multidisciplinares que abarcan aspectos que hasta ahora el tratamiento tradicional del dolor crónico dejaba descuidados.
