| Summary, etc. | "Esta segunda edición de la Historia de los terremotos en Puerto Rico es una versión revisada, ampliada y atemperada a los acontecimientos sísmicos ocurridos desde el 28 de diciembre de 2019 y que llegaron a su momento pico con el terremoto del 7 de enero de 2020. El foco y epicentro principal de la actividad sísmica señalada fue el área suroeste de la Isla (Lajas, Guánica, Yauco, Guayanilla y Peñuelas) y sus repercusiones se extendieron a otros municipios. La mayoría de los temblores que se dieron en ese periodo están relacionados con la llamada falla de Montalva. En esencia, estos acontecimientos son catalogados como los de mayor intensidad desde el terremoto de 1918"--from back cover. |
