| Summary, etc. | El Derecho Canónico es un sistema jurídico que cuenta con dos mil años de tradición y continúa vigente para más de mil millones de personas. Su influencia en muchos ordenamientos es innegable. No existe un Derecho actual de mayor vigencia. Mientras que otros sistemas normativos son ya historia, el Derecho Canónico perdura y seguirá regulando relaciones jurídicas con efectos sociales de indudable trascendencia. La ciencia canónica goza de una gran vitalidad, como lo prueban las numerosas obras publicadas durante los últimos años, los constantes congresos y reuniones científficas, y la continua aparición de revistas especializadas, también en formato digital. Su estudio constituye una lectura conveniente, necesaria, para quienes desean un conocimiento más amplio de la Iglesia y del Derecho.
