Debido a la época de su composición, a muchas obras de la literatura judía de los siglos II y I antes de Cristo y de los dos siguientes se les ha calificado de forma convencional como "literatura intertestamentaria"; es decir, entre el Antiguo y el Nuevo Testamento. Son obras que reflejan el desarrollo del pensamiento judío al final del periodo del Segundo Templo, un mundo muy plural, complejo y apasionante, que supuso el final de una época que ya no volvería y el comienzo de otra marcada por el nacimiento del cristianismo y del rabinismo. El lector encontrará aquí una introducción de la máxima solvencia a los textos de Qumrán, a los escritos apócrifos del Antiguo Testamento y a la literatura rábinica, con la que acceder a textos que pueden no serle familiares, pero sí riquísimos como clave hermenéutica de numerosos pasajes neotestamentarios; al mismo tiempo, cada una de las partes tratadas le ofrece la posibilidad de iniciarse en la investigación autónoma de su correspondiente literatura. |
