| Summary, etc. | Frank Gehry ha tenido un impacto extraordinario sobre la práctica de la arquitectura, mostrando en su obra un desbordamiento de los límites convencionales que ha inspirado a muchos, y lo ha convertido en una figura de popularidad universal. Amigo y colaborador de artistas, su trato con ellos fue la chispa creativa de la que surgiría un incendio formal que tuvo en el Guggenheim bilbaíno su expresión más icónica, lo que hace a este museo inevitable protagonista de esta colección de artículos. Pero además de las vicisitudes de esta obra maestra, los textos exploran también las construcciones agitadas en su California de adopción 'desde las primeras casas hasta el emblemático Disney Hall de Los Ángeles' y realizaciones europeas como el Museo de la Silla de Vitra, el American Center de París o el Ginger y Fred de Praga, edificios escultóricos que no estuvieron exentos de dificultades y polémicas. Algunas obras americanas se presentan en diálogo con otras de colegas europeos o japoneses, y la selección de textos se cierra con una extensa entrevista-monólogo donde el arquitecto comenta con desarmante franqueza su peripecia profesional y sus opiniones sobre la arquitectura y el arte. |
