| Summary, etc. | "Este libro no es un estudio sobre el ensayo, sino como su título lo indica un panorama del ensayo en el Ecuador; sin embargo, pese a ser un ergistro cronológico de sus presencia a través de sus autores en el espacio de nuestra literatura desde los primeros albores independentistas, la consolidación como república en 1830, hasta la mitad del siglo XX, nos hemos salido de esos lineaminetos referenciales , debo a no pocas razones que son indispensables ponerlas en el tapete visual, a fin de que sean revisadas y rectificadas si fuesen necesarias. En algunos de los autores con sus textos o puntos de vista hay graves distorisiones de la realidad, contradicciones, omisiones y hasta fantasías como respuesta no sabemos si esos "errores de buena fe", a la información calcada de los desinformantes, o por padecer de ese síndrome de morosidad para no investigar, convirtiéndose en clásicos y académicos "copiones" que dentro de un razonamiento ético perjudican la solvencia intelectual del ensayista y las dudas del lector.".
