| Summary, etc. | Cinco instituciones forman el sistema de justicia criminal en Puerto Rico: la Policía, el Departamento de Justicia, los abogados defensores, los Tribunales y el Sistema de Corrección. A la altura de 2014, la Policía de Puerto Rico estrenaba nuevo Superintendente en la persona de Calero, después de los fracasos de Héctor M. Pesquera y James Tuller Cintrón, de muy breve ejercicio. En el Tribunal Federal se imponía un acuerdo para reformar la Policía y controlar la violación de derechos civiles. Igualmente, en el Departamento de Justicia, César Miranda sustituía al renunciante Luis Sánchez Betánces. En el Tribunal Supremo, la Juez Liana Fiol fue nombrada Juez Presidente al retiro del Juez Federico Hernández Denton por razones de edad. Llegaba también una nueva magistrado, la Lcda. Maite Oronoz Rodríguez. Todavía la sociedad estaba sacudida por la convicción de Pablo Casellas por el asesinato de su esposa Carmen Paredes. Un juez superior de Aguadilla era procesado por soborno en el Tribunal Federal. De esos temas trata el estudio que presentamos en este libro .
