Clemente fue un jugador de béisbol profesional puertorriqueño que jugó 18 temporadas en las Grandes Ligas para los Piratas de Pittsburgh. Fue incluido en el Salón de la Fama del Béisbol Nacional en 1973, convirtiéndose en el primer jugador latinoamericano y caribeño en ser consagrado.
