La publicación de la correspondencia entre Lolita Lebrón y Francisco Matos Paoli nos permite ser testigos privilegiados de algo que es mucho más que un intercambio postal: es la palabra escrita como vehículo para la comunión entre dos espíritus sublimes, hermanados en la trascendentalidad de la lucha por la libertad y por la fe. La insuficiencia del vocabulario cotidiano, de la expresión causal, para tan elevada comunicación, convierte cada carta en un poema epistolado. Son textos donde trasluce la franqueza, la integridad, la candidez, la limpieza y el fervor patriótico y religioso. Denotan una intimidad excelsa, una fidelidad de hermanos y la franqueza que sólo se cultiva entre almas afines. Este epistolario --que abarca un período de tres lustros del cautiverio de Lolita-- se convierte en un documento por el que discurre la complejidad del pensamiento, el sentimiendo y la "cotidianidad" y cómo se va transformando a partir de las experiencias vividas por ambos interlocutores con el paso de los años. Es también sobre la fuerza de la palabra y cómo sirve ésta para construir parte de nuestra historia sobre el valor del heroísmo. Pero sobre todo es sobre la inexpugnable fuerza de amor como arma para lograr la consecución de la libertad. |
