| Summary, etc. | Este libro recoge la experiencia amplia del arquitecto José C. Silvestre Lugo en el rescate, restauración y rehabilitación de estructuras histórico/patrimoniales en el Viejo San Juan. Apoyado en sus vivencias como profesional en el Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña, Silvestre Lugo exalta la relevancia de la conservación arquitectónica como tarea ineludible, gestión productiva y aleccionadora, digna de compartirse.<br/><br/>Comprometido con aportar a los debates y posibilidades de la ciudad histórica, el autor ofrece al lector las herramientas que, a través de los años, han viabilizado intervenciones significativas en San Juan, ilustrando y discutiéndolas. Hasta ahora, Puerto Rico no contaba con un libro de tal alcance, generoso en reconocer la aportación de entes, agencias, propietarios y constructores al esfuerzo rehabilitador del casco histórico, un texto capaz, como éste, de fomentar una discusión más amplia sobre las posibilidades futuras del Viejo San Juan. |
