| Summary, etc. | "¿Cuál es el cementerio más antiguo de la ciudad de San Juan de Puerto Rico? Muchos consideran que es el que está al lado de su muralla. Sin embargo, las fuentes documentales demuestran que existió uno previo, el cual ha sido relativamente olvidado por la historiografía puertorriqueña. El espacio se conoce como Cementerio Guiriguiví, y estaba cercano a la Catedral de San Juan, dentro del casco urbano.<br/><br/>La investigadora Frontera Muñoz ha estudiado las fuentes disponibles, utilizando documentos desde el siglo XVI hasta el presente. Éstos arrojan luz sobre la evolución y los usos que ha tenido el lugar que originalmente fuera un camposanto por más de tres siglos. El estudio propone una teoría sobre el origen del nombre que se le dio a este cementerio, y resalta aquellos personajes de la historia de Puerto Rico que han sido relegados a un segundo plano, incluyendo algunos en su propia línea genealógica.
