| Summary, etc. | El libro estudia la figura de Monseñor Parrilla a partir de su compromiso con los valores de la doctrina social cristiana y su vida dedicada a la búsqueda de la liberación integral de Puerto Rico y los puertorriqueños. Santiago describe el trasfondo humano y espiritual de Monseñor Parrilla, su infancia y juventud, el nacimiento de su vocación sacerdotal, su papel y relación con la jerarquía católica, sus coincidencias y diferencias con los principales dirigentes de la Iglesia Católica en el Puerto Rico de mediados del Siglo XX y su relación con los principales dirigentes del independentismo puertorriqueño. También aborda su visión en cuanto a la doctrina social de la Iglesia y su aplicación y mirada a temas como el colonialismo, el militarismo, el cooperativismo, y la relación entre fe, compromiso político y vivencia evangélica que marcaran su existencia. |
