| Summary, etc. | En la conmemoración de su 110 aniversario, se recontruyen los inicios del Hospital Presbiteriano, hoy Ashford Presbyterian Community Hospital. Se trata de una memoria amplia en la que convergen la ciudad, El Condado, los doctores misioneros, las enfermeras, la clase médica puertorriqueña, los voluntarios y la comunidad. Al rememorar en 1923 el discurso de la doctora Grace Atkins titulado The day of Small beginnings, pronunciado con motivo de la inauguración del edificio seis años antes, el reverendo James Eastman concluyo con estas palabras: A splendid beginning, but only a beginning. Las palabras de ambos son un recordatorio de que la institución, fiel a sus cimientos, es siempre un comienzo. |
