| Summary, etc. | "Este libro generoso en ideas y revelaciones propone una intuición: la existencia de los puertorriqueños se sostiene en milagros cotidianos que ocurren no ya por intercesión divina sino por obra de una particular vivencia. Sin embargo, Hinca por ahí no es tanto fruto del milagro como de la disciplina y el acercamiento ético al trabajo artístico. Su fuerza proviene de la capacidad amatoria y polémica. La polémica despierta momias y levanta ronchas. No puede ser la paz de lo inmóvil el hábitat de un pueblo que vive de la persistencia de unos afectos que no acertamos a explicarnos. La mirada crítica no se detiene en estructuras discursivas académicas. Pone en entredicho los criterios excluyentes, armas elitistas para determinar los linderos del "buen arte", sin excluir de la mirilla los estereotipos dóciles de "lo nacional" ni dejar de proponer acercamientos al arte que brota en los ambientes sociales más deprimidos y excluidos: "Nosotros a los que todo se nos ha negado, todo lo apropiaremos y todo lo usaremos de acuerdo a nuestras necesidades, sin imposiciones y sin pedir permiso".
