"A un país como el nuestro, «enfermo» en muchos sentidos, hay que sanarlo en todas sus vertientes. Es en ello que la visión de salud pública, con la óptica epidemiológica y a través del prisma salubrista, resulta particularmente pertinente para examinar nuestros problemas y proponer remedios acertados. Si bien es cierto que «la enfermedad no está en la sábana», también lo es que una sábana sucia es un foco de infección y contagio. La salud - el más preciado de los dones - es el presupuesto de todos los demás renglones del desenvolvimiento humano. En ella, literalmente, nos va la vida, por lo cual, su atención es forzosamente prioritaria, y cualquier otro interés social pasa a segundo plano". |
