Un libro interesante y atractivo, e incluso ameno. A pesar de sus casi 700 páginas. Su autor lo presenta así: "A lo largo de las páginas de este libro vamos a recorrer la historia del Año Litúrgico y del Calendario del rito romano: desde sus orígenes hasta llegar a su configuración actual'. A partir de una exhaustiva investigación sobre la historia de las celebraciones cristianas, su autor, en las primeras 250 páginas, nos va descubriendo el largo proceso de creación de los primeros calendarios litúgicos, y luego su también largo proceso de evolución hasta llegar a nuestros días. Y a continuación, en las casi 450 páginas restantes, nos ofrece unos apéndices que recogen todos los calendarios conocidos del rito romano, primero cada uno por separado y luego en sinopsis. Un libro, por tanto, para leer, conocer y profundizar, para todos aquellos que quieran ir a fondo en el conocimiento de la historia de la liturgia. Y un libro para consultar, e incluso para curiosear, al alcance de cualquier cristiano interesado.
