El 4 de diciembre de 1963, el Concilio Vaticano II daba luz verde a la constitución Sacrosanctum Concilium, que contenía las líneas maestras de una reforma general de la liturgia romana, cuya finalidad era llevar al pueblo de Dios a lo que es «la fuente primaria y necesaria en la que han de beber los fieles el espíritu verdaderamente cristiano» (SC 14-2). Fiel a las indicaciones conciliares, la Sede Apostólica fue publicando uno tras otro los libros renovados: el Misal, el Leccionario, el Pontifical, el Ritual, el Bendicional, la Liturgia de las Horas... Gracias a ello, pastores y fieles tienen al alcance de la mano textos y ritos venerados o de nueva creación, de gran belleza literaria y riquísimo contenido doctrinal. Aunque se ha recorrido ya un buen trecho del camino, no ha perdido vigencia el anhelo conciliar de que los cristianos comprendan bien los ritos y oraciones de las diversas celebraciones litúrgicas: la Eucaristía y demás sacramentos, el año litúrgico, el Oficio Divino..., de modo que, participando «consciente, piadosa y activamente en la acción sagrada» (SC 48), prolonguen en la vida lo celebrado en el misterio, de modo que su entera existencia se convierta en un ininterrumpido acto cultual. Contribuir, de alguna manera , a este apasionante reto es el fin propuesto al editar La celebración del Misterio cristiano, en los albores del tercer milenio cristiano y se inserta en el magno proyecto de la nueva evangelización. |
