Life and Work --<br/>1508 Palladio is born as Andrea di Pietro, the son of a miller in Padua, on 8 November 1508. --<br/>1521 Palladio's father signs a six-year apprenticeship contract for his son in the workshop of the architect and stone carver Bartolomeo Cavazza da Sossano in Padua. --<br/>1523 Palladio flees from Cavazza's workshop to Vicenza, but is forced to return in order to fulfil his contract. --<br/>1524 Palladio becomes a member of the Masons' and Stone Carvers' Guild in Vicenza and is taken on in the respected workshop of Giovanni di Giacomo da Porlezza in Pedemuro. -- <br/>1530 His attempt to establish a workshop of his own fails. --<br/>1534 Marries Allegradonna, the daughter of a cabinetmaker.
